Sunday Times ProfessionFashion & Fashion Film VitaMonica Menez is an award-winning fashion photographer and filmmaker from Stuttgart, Germany. Whether she is working on a photoset or a fashion movie: Her rich imagery is profound and peppered with bits of absurdity, humor and eroticism. Thus, she fulfills her artistic intention to present fashion in an appealing and unique way.
After having won various awards for her photographs, she received the La Jolla Fashion Film Award in 2011 for “Most Creative Concept”, followed by the ASVOFF 5 Award in 2012 for “Best Art Direction”. In 2013, she won further prestigious awards such as the Berlin Fashion Film Festival 2013 Award in the category “Best Fashion Film 2013” for her film “Odditory”, and for her film “Hors D'Oeuvre” she was rewarded with the Madrid Fashion Film Festival 2013 award for “Best fashion film international 2013”. Menez´ success story continues, with numerous further coveted prizes under her belt: In 2014, she was once more honoured with the ASVOFF “Best Art Direction” Award, this time for “The Journey”. This film, praised by critics to be one of the best fashion  films ever made, also won prizes at the 2015 Miami Fashion Film Festival: “Best Film Audience Award”, “Best Cineamatography” and “Best Hair”. “It always depends on the project whether a still or moving image is the more adequate medium”, says Monica Menez. This open-minded approach towards fashion and art is one of the reasons why her work is so multifaceted. Websitewww.monicamenez.de
