Anne Ackermann

VitaBorn 1980 in Landstuhl, Germany, Anne Ackermann studied Visual Communication/ Media at the University of Fine Arts in Hamburg. As part of her studies, she spent two years in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she attended the private photography school Escuela de Fotografía Creativa Andy Goldstein, before shooting her graduation project in the Paraguayan Chaco desert. After receiving her diploma in Hamburg in 2007, she spent an International Photojournalism Semester at the renowned Danish School of Journalism in Århus, Denmark. Her work has been featured in international publications such as SZ Magazin, The New York Times, Stern, Geo, Der Spiegel, NZZ, and The New Yorker. Ackermann has been a member of the Focus Agency since 2012. Her project The Most Beautiful Memory. Recollecting My Father was realised with the support of VG Bildkunst (Grant for an Ongoing Project) and the Rheinland-Pfalz Cultural Foundation (In Focus – 6 Points for Culture).
