The gallerist Monika Mohr celebrates her 15th anniversary of with a retrospective of her exhibitions since 2001 with a real „Who is Who of famous artists: From Avedon, Bitesnich, Horst P.Horst, Hoyningen-Huene, Sarah Moon, Peter Lindbergh to Straulino and Bob Whitaker, to name but a few.

„I have always intended to give fashion-, portrait- and landscape photography a dignified stage“ says the gallerist, „Quality before quantity - that has been my motto over the years.“ - and rather successfully, one might add, as the shown pieces clearly prove, real classics from the history and the presence of photography: There is the world-famous girl in a white corset from the old master Horst P. Horst, there is JFK speaking, taken by Jochen Blume, hier is a laughing Marylin Monroe by Milton H. Green, to say nothing of the lady in pastel  hues by Deborah Zurbeville or the eroticism of a Peter Lindbergh.

That there are no prices on the price list is conceptual, as is the former model´s tasteful selection of the exhibits - and one has to prick up one´s ears to incredulously hear, that the Sarah Moon, only recently honored with a show in Hamburg´s Deichtorhallen, now lies at 16000 Euro - specialist Monika Mohr knows her price tags by heart. So it is advisable to go to the gallery with some money in the pocket, if you want to invest in a commodity that one can look at and enjoy - but even if you are not a buyer, „Art comes First“ is simply enjoyable!
