Visiting little Ekure Nachukuli at the Horn of Africa: an appeal for donations by the The Independent on Sunday and the charity Merlin shows tangible results. Four months ago, the cover of the British newspaper featured a severely malnourished child along with an emergency appeal. When photographer Frederic Courbet returned to North Kenya to visit the little girl and her family, it was evident that the received donations had been able to ease the effects of the drought crisis.
