This retrospective of almost 40 works by Vincent Peters revolves around his black and white portraits of actors like Emma Watson and Charlize Theron and supermodels like Cindy Crawford and Natalia Vodianova. With his trademark gauzy play of light and shadow, and his use of elements of drapery and sometimes nudity, Peters’ works are always very sensual and classical. He was born in Bremen in 1969 and moved to New York City aged 20 to work as a photographer’s assistant and hone his craft. Since coming back to Europe in 1995, he has been crafting timeless images that capture the essences of the world’s most beautiful women in a pared-down manner. These are pictures of harmony and simplicity.
