Tania Brassesco & Lazlo Passi Norberto’s wonderfully composed, meticulously planned photographs might be thought of as stills from films they’ve only dreamed of, films in which they often play a starring role themselves. Now on show in Turin, their latest series ‘Behind the Visible’ takes us into a world that appears similar to our own, only slightly different, more wild and surreal. The sitting room is overgrown with creeping plants. Black, shadowy dogs prowl at the bottom of the garden. The driveway’s flooded; so’s the bedroom, where large, golden carp drift above the shag carpet. As befits an exhibition in a gallery named after De Chirico, ‘Behind the Visible’ takes us on an enchanting trip into the Italian artistic subconscious.
