Snowdon: A Life in View

One of the best-connected photographers in an industry that’s all about connections, Snowdon – or to use his full title, Antony Armstrong Jones, 1st Earl of Snowdon – was married to Princess Margaret, sister of Queen Elizabeth II, affectionately known as “Darling Tony” by Diana Vreeland, and close friends with Graydon Carter and Tom Ford, both of whom have contributed to this book. Working for British Vogue and the Sunday Times Magazine from the 1960s onwards, Snowdon shot a constellation of stars from David Bowie, to Marlene Dietrich, to Yves Saint Laurent. He passed away in January 2017 and now, in a fitting tribute, his glittering career and extraordinary, colourful life has been collected and celebrated in ‘A Life in View’, edited by his youngest daughter Frances von Hofmannsthal.
