A reminiscence exhibition is shown at Kunsthalle Rostock. The Fashion Magazine Sybille was very popular in former GDR - dedicated to fashion, its subtitle said „Magazine for Fashion and Culture“, for they judged photographers, designers and culture as on a par.

Photography was - nest to well prepared articles in art, architecture and health - a defining element of its influence. Sybille´s photographers knew their craft well and sought to realize art. They worked also for other publications as portrait- and reportage photographers.

Kunsthalle Rostock now focuses on them and their individual qualities for the first time: On the upper floor a selection of works of 13 photographers are features, plus a chronological exhibit of Sybille-issues in reproductions, beginning from 1956 til 1989, the year of the Fall of the Wall.

On the Main Floor there are shown historical films - hitherto unpublished - of fashion shows and some objects from the heritage of the Fashion Institute of the GDR. They give an approach to the Sybille phenomenon in a dense atmospheric setting. Statdmuseum Berlin is a cooperation partner.
