From 25 February to 1 April 2017, the CWC Gallery in Berlin presents an extensive exhibition of works by British portrait and fashion photographer Rankin. Comprising more than 50 images and spanning 20 years of his career, the exhibition is a comprehensive overview of Rankin’s extraordinary oeuvre.

Visitors will find themselves drawn into the Leica S photographer’s fascinating world. Selected from a variety of series, the works on display range from the world-famous nude photographs of supermodels such as Heidi Klum, Kate Moss and Gisele Bündchen to controversial portraits of stars such as David Bowie, all the way to images from independent projects which break the mould of artistic traditions. A shared trait of all works is their questioning of social norms and beauty ideals.

Rankin’s work has become a part of contemporary iconography. The globally acclaimed photographer has created ground-breaking editorials and advertising campaigns for brands such as Nike, Swatch, Dove, Pantene, Diageo and Oxfam. Since the early nineties, he has also been renowned for his portraits of bands, artists, supermodels and politicians.

For LFI, Rankin created issue No. 3 of the S Magazine. This is available from the LFI Shop along with the artist’s latest book,  #NSFW.
