The old Parisian house of Dior has a longstanding relationship with Italian photographer Paolo Roversi: over the years he’s shot campaigns for them and also photographed garments by their last four artistic directors, Maria Grazia Chiuri, Raf Simons, John Galliano and Gianfranco Ferré, for some of the world’s leading fashion magazines. Now, in a unique project that sits halfway between artistic portfolio and design monograph, the best pictures from these decades of collaborations have been collected together for ‘Dior Images’. But it’s not all old work: also included is an exclusive new photoshoot styled by Grace Coddington and featuring archive pieces made by Christian Dior himself. Flicking through the pages of this book, one has the privilege of watching Roversi’s photography and Dior’s designs growing elegantly old together, in perfect harmony.
