Hamburg-based gallerist Monika Mohr presents an exhibition of works by acclaimed image-makers classed as ’true’ photographers: visual authors whose compositions were not refined on a computer, but created solely with the camera. The showcase, titled ‘Think Big – Great Photography’, consists of large-format fashion and fine-art images by photography legends such as Richard Avedon, Andreas H. Bitesnich, Jochen Blume, Greg Gorman, Peter Lindbergh, Sarah Moon, Helmut Newton, André de Plessel, Straulino or Donata Wenders.  

While Richard Avedon and Helmut Newton embraced large prints as early as the 1980s, many of the other exhibited works are usually available in a small or medium-sized format. In this showcase, however, all images are presented in classic large-format dimensions of 70x100 centimetres or more – unleashing the full effect of these extraordinary works of art.
