From the moment one notices the cover of this book – a model in high heels, casually walking her lion along a pink promenade under the palm trees – it’s clear to see that ‘Esther’s World’ is a wild, glamorous, graceful world. Now based between Hamburg and London, Esther Haase was born in Bremen and studied ballet before taking up photography. Indeed, she describes her life as a dance through the world with a camera; and what could be nicer than that? As she’s been working for more than a quarter of a century, in which time she’s shot everyone from famous supermodels to modern-day icons like Angela Merkel and Karl Lagerfeld, Haase has now decided to gather her favourite photographs from the last three decades – some of which were originally published by us in S magazine – into this magical book.
