To coincide with the close of New York Fashion Week, Brooklyn’s famous photography studio, school and exhibition space Red Hook Labs will be mounting a homecoming show of American fashion photographer Cass Bird. “In Bed” blurs the boundaries between the personal and the professional by
mixing intimate snapshots of her day-to-day life with her family – who also live in Brooklyn – with her laid-back, sensuous fashion shoots for magazines like i-D and Vogue. In the words of her good friend, Vogue’s Sally Singer, “This is a celebration of the world of Cass Bird, a world that is often semi-clothed, goofy, unwashed, a tangle of attitudes, emotions, silly poses, sideways glances.”
