Over the years Carla Sozzani, founder of Milanese concept store 10 Corso Como, has accumulated one of the world’s great collections of photography. As a shopkeeper, a gallerist and a former editor-in-chief of special editions of Vogue Italia she has an exhaustive knowledge of art and fashion photography and her collection includes many greats: Sarah Moon, Daido Moriyama, Helmut Newton, Paolo Roversi and Francesca Woodman, to name but a few. “Between Art and Fashion” comes to the Swiss countryside by way of Galerie Azzedine Alaïa in Paris, where it was originally shown in 2016. “It’s not a collection,” Sozzani explained to Vogue at the time, “it’s my life. Actually, I didn’t even think I had a collection until Azzedine had the idea. Whenever he comes to my office in Milan, he always says, ‘Oh, you have so many beautiful pictures.’”
