Paolo Roversi in Milan

In the Palazzo Reale, by the Duomo in the heart of Milan, nine rooms of the Prince’s Apartments have become the very glamorous setting for an exhibition of photographs by one of Italy’s most glamorous photographers: Paolo Roversi. His exhibition, titled ‘Stories’, forms one of the centrepieces of the city’s yearly Photo Vogue Festival and showcases his magisterial control of light and darkness. Renowned for making dramatic, chiaroscuro-laden pictures that look like paintings, Roversi’s great skill is in making women look extraordinarily beautiful but also very timeless, as if they’d just stepped out from an old royal palace in another age entirely.
